1. About BuyMyPlanet
BuyMyPlanet is an online service that sells personalized digital certificates of symbolic ownership for celestial bodies (planets, stars, and other astronomical objects). Our certificates are digital goods delivered instantly via email as PDF files. BuyMyPlanet is operated by Hackceleration. Contact: ethan@buymyplanet.com.
2. Nature of the Product
BuyMyPlanet sells digital novelty certificates. These certificates are entertainment and gift products. They are NOT legal documents and do NOT confer any actual, legal, or recognized ownership of any celestial body. No person, company, or government can legally own a planet, star, moon, or any other astronomical object. This is established by the Outer Space Treaty of 1967 (Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space), which has been ratified by over 110 countries.
3. What You Receive
When you purchase a certificate on BuyMyPlanet, you receive: (a) A personalized digital PDF certificate featuring the name of your chosen celestial body, the owner name you specified, a unique registration number, the date of purchase, and real astronomical data sourced from publicly available scientific databases. (b) A permanent entry in the BuyMyPlanet digital registry database, which is maintained by BuyMyPlanet and is not affiliated with any governmental, scientific, or international organization. (c) For premium purchases: a permanent web page on buymyplanet.com displaying the ownership details, and a QR code on the certificate linking to that page.
4. Symbolic Ownership Only
The 'ownership' referenced in our certificates is purely symbolic and exists only within the BuyMyPlanet registry. It does not constitute legal ownership, property rights, or any claim recognized by any government, court, international body, or scientific organization. Multiple certificates may be issued for the same celestial body, as each certificate is a unique digital product with its own registration number. Our registry is an internal database maintained solely by BuyMyPlanet.
5. Digital Goods Policy
All products sold on BuyMyPlanet are digital goods. Certificates are delivered electronically as PDF files via email. Because our products are digital goods that are delivered instantly, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the certificate has been generated and delivered. However, we offer a voluntary 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, contact us at ethan@buymyplanet.com within 30 days for a full refund.
6. Astronomical Data
The astronomical data featured on our certificates (planet names, star names, distances, classifications, etc.) is sourced from publicly available scientific databases and confirmed discoveries by organizations such as NASA, ESA, and the International Astronomical Union (IAU). BuyMyPlanet is not affiliated with any of these organizations. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that all data is current or error-free.
7. Pricing and Payment
Prices are displayed in USD for English-language visitors and in EUR for French and Spanish-language visitors. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. BuyMyPlanet does not store any payment card information. Promotional discounts (including the ALIEN10 code) are applied at checkout and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on buymyplanet.com, including website design, text, graphics, logos, certificate designs, and the BuyMyPlanet brand, is the property of BuyMyPlanet / Hackceleration and is protected by intellectual property laws. Certificates purchased by customers may be printed, shared, and displayed for personal use.
9. Limitation of Liability
BuyMyPlanet provides its services 'as is.' We are not responsible for any misunderstanding regarding the nature of our products. Our certificates are clearly marketed as symbolic, novelty, and entertainment products. BuyMyPlanet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services.
10. Privacy
We collect the following personal data during purchase: email address, owner name specified on the certificate, and payment information (processed by Stripe). We use this data solely to deliver your certificate and for order management. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties except as required by law. Data is stored securely and retained for as long as necessary for order fulfillment and legal obligations.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in France.
